THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
FAQs
We've pulled together the frequently asked questions about buying a home at Maplewood that buyers ask us most: the process, and what to expect when buying off the plan. If you still have more questions, get in touch.
Can I make changes to the home designs?
Each lot has a pre-selected exterior colour palette to ensure a cohesive streetscape throughout the development. Within each palette, you can choose from multiple home designs. Inside your home, you can select from three carefully curated interior packages, giving you flexibility to personalise the look and feel of your new home.
Can I choose my own palette?
The exterior colour palette for each lot is predetermined as part of the overall design vision for the development. However, there is a selection of home designs available within each allocated colour palette, allowing you to choose a style that best suits your preferences.
How long will construction take?
Once the concrete slab has been poured, your home is expected to be completed within approximately four months. We build in small batches to maintain quality workmanship and ensure every home receives the attention it deserves.
What sets Maplewood homes apart?
A Maplewood home is designed with more than just compliance in mind. While all new homes must meet the New Zealand Building Code, Studio H's designs approach each home through the lens of thoughtful design, comfort and long-term liveability.
From the way spaces flow, to the selection of materials, natural light, energy efficiency and everyday functionality, each home is carefully considered to create a warmer, more comfortable and enduring place to live. Maplewood homes are designed not just to meet expectations today, but to continue feeling right for years to come.
Why buy a new home?
A new home offers the advantage of modern design, improved energy efficiency and less maintenance from the moment you move in. At Maplewood, each home combines thoughtful architecture, quality materials and practical living spaces to create a comfortable, contemporary place to call home, designed for how people live today and into the future.
Is there a builder's guarantee?
Yes. All Cornerstone homes come with a one-year maintenance warranty and a ten-year building guarantee.
Can first home buyers use KiwiSaver?
In most cases, yes - subject to eligibility. We recommend speaking with your bank or mortgage adviser about your specific situation early in the process.
Are there special finance options available?
Some lenders offer preferential rates for homes built to higher performance standards. Ask your mortgage adviser whether this applies to your situation.
Who do I talk to about buying?
Contact us directly - we are happy to walk you through the process, answer questions about the homes, and refer you to a solicitor or mortgage adviser if needed.
What does 'off the plan' mean?
It means purchasing a home that has not yet been built. You commit to the home, the lot and the palette at today's price, and settle when construction is complete and a code of compliance has been issued.
