WHAT TO EXPECT

The palettes

Every palette and finish at Maplewood has been chosen for its durability, character and connection to place.

Materiality is central to the identity of Maplewood. From brick, timber cladding and corrugated roofing through to the interior finishes and details, every element contributes to a layered palette of texture, warmth and depth that reflects the surrounding landscape and the simplicity of rural forms.

Five palettes that give the street variety without uniformity, each distinct and all at ease alongside one another.

Palettes are spread across the site deliberately rather than grouped by street so the variation feels natural rather than planned. Designed to settle into the landscape, these materials will continue to gain character over time.

Dark Scoria

The most grounded of the five, this palette is anchored by the deep, earthy warmth of a Scoria roof. Layered with ash brick and soft greys, it creates a rich, enduring presence within the Waikato landscape.
